The Role:

Parico is seeking a talented Wintel Architect who is smart, curious and prospers against the challenge of working closely with a small business to solve complex and challenging problems across the UK defence landscape. You’ll have the freedoms to be truly innovative, to roll up your sleeves, get stuck into the detail of systems, create demos and proof-of-concepts, and generally do what it takes to achieve incredible technical solutions to our customer’s complex problems.

Responsibilities include: 

Significant depth of experience within key disciplines such as design, de-risking and development, including:

• Microsoft Windows Server 2019;
  1. AD and NTFS permissions
  2. DNS
  3. DHCP
  4. Group Policy, CIS and NCSC Security Hardening
  5. NTP
  6. PKI
• Document Handling
  1. Microsoft SharePoint up to version 2019 where possible

  1. Microsoft Exchange up to version 2019 where possible 
• Voice and Video Conferencing
  1. Skype for Business
  2. SIP with TLS federation
• Database Services
  1. Microsoft SQL Server up to version 2019 where possible
  2. PostgreSQL

• Replication and Backup Technologies

• Proxy Technologies

• Storage Technologies

• Experienced with multi-tier internet-facing architectures and systems
• Strong operating system experience with multiple versions of Windows and Linux
• Working experience of cloud security concepts

Our Ideal Candidate

• A proven track record for delivering several large-scale IT projects, with direct responsibility for designing and implementing highly available and resilient Wintel solutions including active-active failover for business continuity.
• Constructing Windows infrastructure components within environments that operate at scale.
• Strong documentation experience, both in creating high and low level technical design documentation and implementing low level configuration details that underpin the architecture.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and comfortable taking on new challenges.
• Demonstrable experiencing of working with Enterprise Systems, Platforms and Networks within both a datacentre environment and a cloud environment.
• Working as part of an Agile development team.
• Experience working with Dev-ops tools including;
  1. JIRA
  2. Confluence
  3. Bitbucket
• Have demonstrable sector knowledge or experience within UK Defence (Army, Air force or Royal Navy).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 
• Ability to hold a minimum of UK Security Clearance (SC).
• Hold a UK Driving Licence and have a willingness to travel to client sites.

Essential Qualifications

• AWS Solution Architect or similar.
• Windows Server certification MCSA (Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate), MCSE (Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert) or similar.
